Florida Continues Data Call Reporting and Issues Emergency Order Following Hurricane Idalia

On September 6, 2023, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (FLOIR) issued a data call notice continuing the previous data call in response to Hurricane Idalia. FLOIR is continuing the data call reporting and requiring daily catastrophe reporting between Thursday, September 7 and Wednesday, September 13 by 12 P.M ET each day. This also includes reporting on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10.

Emergency Order:

 

On September 1, 2023, FLOIR issued Emergency Order 315284-23-EO in response to Hurricane Idalia. 

 

This emergency order extends grace periods, prohibits cancellations or nonrenewals in impacted areas, and directs insurers to implement processes and procedures to facilitate efficient payment of claims. This will last until October 31, 2023 and applies to all insurers in the state of Florida, including surplus lines insurers and other regulated entities.
