On October 9, 2026, the Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire (Department) released [Directive 26-EX-7](https://aaisviews.aaisonline.com/hubfs/DIRECTIVE%2026-EX-7%20-%20INSURANCE%20COMPANIES%20ACROSS%20ALL%20LINES%20OF%20COVERAGE%20-%20NO%20CANCELLATIONS%20FOR%20FAILURE%20TO%20PAY%20IN%20AFFECTED%20AREAS.pdf) following the issuance of a State of Emergency from Governor Brian Kemp. The directive states that insurance companies across all lines of coverage are not to cancel policies for non-payment from policyholders in the counties affected by Hurricane Isaias until further advised by the Department.
