On June 12, 2025, the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) issued Memorandum 2025-1A regarding the extension of timeframes to complete repairs or replacements for policyholders that were impacted by the August 2023 Maui Island wildfires.

The DCCA is encouraging admitted and non-admitted insurers providing residential and commercial property insurance in areas that were affected by the wildfires to extend, or be flexible in extending, timeframes for policyholders to qualify for replacement cost coverage.
