Maryland has enacted [House Bill 1148](https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Legislation/Details/HB1148), stating that if an applicant for residential condominium unit insurance experiences a lapse in coverage due to an insurer withdrawing from the market, then as outlined in the bill, an insurer may not refuse to issue a policy based solely on the applicant's lapse of coverage.
