Maryland has enacted House Bill 1148, stating that if an applicant for residential condominium unit insurance experiences a lapse in coverage due to an insurer withdrawing from the market, then as outlined in the bill, an insurer may not refuse to issue a policy based solely on the applicant's lapse of coverage.
