On October 28, 2024, the North Carolina Department of Insurance (NCDOI) amended Bulletin Number 24-B-13 and Bulletin Number 24-B-14 to expand the disaster region following Tropical Storm Helene.

Bulletin Number 24-B-13 was issued to inform insurers of the order that activated the state of disaster automatic stay of proof of loss requirements, and premium and debt deferrals for policyholders in the affected counties.

Bulletin Number 24-B-14 was issued to announce the activation of the NCDOI's Disaster Mediation Program to help facilitate the effective, fair, and timely resolution of claims that were a result of the disaster.
