On April 14, 2025, the New Hampshire Insurance Department issued Bulletin INS 25-031-AB regarding the use of virtual claims adjustment systems that require pictures or videos of damaged vehicles from consumers or repair shops rather than in-person inspections by insurers.

The bulletin clarifies that an insurer must provide an in-person inspection of a damaged vehicle within a reasonable time period if it is requested by the consumer. Additionally, insurers may not deny the request for an in-person inspection based on the fact that the consumer initially elected to use a virtual adjustment system.
