On December 9, 2025, the Oregon Division of Financial Regulation issued a memorandum regarding Senate Bill (SB) 840 insurance provisions to all companies writing auto insurance.
The memorandum summarizes some of the changes made in SB 840, including shortened SR-22 filing requirements for driving uninsured convictions, repeal of mandatory suspensions for uninsured accidents, and required statements from insurers if requested by a customer. These provisions take effect January 1, 2026.
