On September 23, 2024, The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) issued an adoption order for a new rule that implements House Bill 1040. The rule requires insurers to send notices for nonrenewals or the discontinuation of coverage both electronically and nonelectronically to the insured. The rule becomes effective on October 12, 2024.
