May 27, 2025 / by AAIS

Washington State has enacted Senate Bill 5419, which, among other provisions, adds reporting requirements of an insurer when a claim related to fire loss or damage is closed. Within 90 days of closing such claim, insurers must report to the insurance commissioner, in a manner prescribed by the insurance commissioner to include reporting via a third-party vendor, each fire loss of property reported to the insurer. The bill outlines the minimum information that must be reported.
