AAIS Product Advisory Councils…Member Engagement in Product Development

Written by John Kadous | Jan 6, 2022

As part of our commitment to delivering innovative, unique, and valuable products and solutions, we have established product councils to engage with Members and gather feedback to inform the strategic direction of AAIS programs. Currently, AAIS has Advisory Councils in the following areas: Auto, Farm, Agribusiness, Inland Marine/Commercial Output, Commercial Lines, Personal Lines and most recently Cannabis and Fire.

It's recommended that you view in Full Screen or use the +/- options for the optimal experience.

Council Participation and Collaboration

Advisory Councils are led by AAIS Product Managers and comprise representatives from Member carriers as well as non-Members who can contribute a broad perspective and valuable input. Care is taken to make certain that Councils represent a cross-section of the market to ensure that diversity of product needs and insurer interests are considered. For example, the Auto Council includes representatives from insurers in the Personal, Commercial, and Non-Standard markets, from large national writers, mid-sized/super-regionals, and smaller one- or two-state companies.

Invaluable Insights, Feedback, Direction

Input from the Product Advisory Councils as well as individual Member discussions is gathered by AAIS Product Managers, who in turn create product roadmaps to guide planning within the broader strategic goals of AAIS. Product Managers also benefit from individual discussions with participants where they gain a better understanding of their priorities so they can integrate them into product roadmaps. These insights are instrumental in establishing priorities for program development on the strategic horizon.

Discussions within the Advisory Councils have been terrific thus far, and the feedback invaluable. If you would like more information on the work being done in the AAIS Product Advisory Councils, contact John at johnk@aaisonline.com.
