Colorado Issues Amended Bulletin Regarding Certain Written Notices

Written by AAIS | Apr 10, 2026

On February 10, 2026, the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) issued Bulletin No. B-5.56, providing guidance to all property insurers regarding annual written notices to policyholders on wildfire risk scores and mitigation discounts. On April 6, 2026, DORA issued amended Bulletin No. B-5.56 to include additional notification forms for insurers to use as applicable.

The bulletin states that all insurers offering property insurance policies must provide an annual written notice to policyholders and applicants upon application on property wildfire risk scores and mitigation discounts, as well as any other wildfire risk classifications the insurer uses to underwrite or price a residential insurance policy. Additional sample notification forms have been provided with the amended bulletin for applicable use by insurers as stated for each form. Insurers may deviate from the attached sample forms as long as all notices include the minimum requirements.

Please see amended Bulletin B-5.56 for more information.
