Georgia Lifts Wildfire Policy Cancellation Ban

On May 27, 2026, the Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire (OCI) issued Directive 26-EX-5 to lift the policy cancellation restrictions.

 

Directive 26-EX-1 imposed the policy cancellation ban related to ongoing wildfires that was later reduced to certain affected areas in Directive 26-EX-3. The directive states that as a result of the recovery efforts, the restrictions that were previously imposed were lifted on May 27, 2026.
