Georgia Reduces Counties Where Cancellation Ban Applies

Written by AAIS | May 13, 2026

On April 23, 2026, the Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire (OCI) issued Directive 26-EX-1 to prohibit the cancellation of policies for non-payment from policyholders in certain counties affected by the ongoing wildfires. On May 8, 2026, the OCI issued Directive 26-EX-3 to reduce the number of counties to which Directive 26-EX-1 applies. The directive lists the counties in which cancellation for nonpayment of premium is still prohibited.

Please see Directive 26-EX-1 and Directive 26-EX-3 for more information.
