On October 2, 2024, the South Carolina Department of Insurance (SCDOI) issued a Notice of Catastrophe Claims Data Call following Tropical Storm Helene, requiring insurers that write private and/or excess flood insurance coverage to respond.
Insurers must complete the claims reporting spreadsheet and submit it through the NAIC RDC Portal. The first report for claims reported as of Friday, October 4, 2024, is due Wednesday, October 11, 2024. The data call provides a schedule and due dates for all responses that must be completed. Please see the data call for instructions on how to complete and submit the reports.
