On July 18, 2024, the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) issued Commissioner's Bulletin #B-0014-24 and Order No. 2024-8743, notifying insurers of the extension of claims processing deadlines in affected counties following Hurricane Beryl.
The bulletin and order provide a list of the 67 counties in which the claims processing deadlines for insurers are extended an additional 15 days for losses incurred July 7, 2024, through July 9, 2024. The TDI expects insurers to only use the extension as necessary and encourages them to use tools that are already available, such as emergency adjusters.
