Daniela Barbosa
General Manager of Blockchain and Identity | The Linux Foundation

Daniela Barbosa serves as General Manager of Blockchain and Identity at The Linux Foundation and as Executive Director of Hyperledger Foundation with overall strategic and operational responsibility for staff, programs, expansion, and execution of Hyperledger’s mission. She has more than 20 years of enterprise technology experience, including serving for four years as Hyperledger Foundation’s Vice President of Worldwide Alliances with responsibility for the member community as well as broader industry and business community outreach and overall network growth. Barbosa started her career at Dow Jones where she worked with the top global brands across various sectors, including finance, consumer, and energy, to architect and deliver enterprise systems, ontologies, and semantic web solutions. In the early 2000s, she became involved in the early web 2.0 community helping to advance the concept of digital identity and data portability as the pathway for people to reuse their data across interoperable applications.

Brian Behlendorf
Executive Director | Hyperledger
Brian Behlendorf is the Executive Director for Hyperledger. Behlendorf was a primary developer of the Apache Web server, the most popular web server software on the Internet, and a founding member of the Apache Software Foundation. He has also served on the board of the Mozilla Foundation since 2003 and the Electronic Frontier Foundation since 2013. He was the founding CTO of CollabNet and CTO of the World Economic Forum.
Casey Brewer
Former Product Manager, Personal Auto | AAIS

Casey Brewer was AAIS’s Auto Product Manager. In that role, he led the development of AAIS Personal Auto forms, rules, ratings, and loss costs as the first component of an AAIS Personal Auto Program. He also developed a Commercial Auto program for AAIS.

Casey has previously held roles with USAA, Gainsco, Freestone, National Unity and Unitrin.

Casey has a BA in Business Administration from the University of Texas-Dallas.

 

Mike Consedine
Chief Executive Officer | NAIC
Michael F. Consedine serves as the NAIC's Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, he principally focuses on strategic planning, policy development and implementation in the areas of state, federal and international affairs and relations. He advocates for NAIC members and represents their interests before federal and international policymakers, state government associations, and consumer and industry groups. Consedine is also responsible for management of the NAIC's Executive Office and staff.

Consedine currently serves as an Executive Committee Member on the IAIS and speaks frequently on both domestic and international insurance matters. He is also on the advisory board for Plug and Play Tech Center and is very involved in both insuretech and fintech issues.
Dina Burgess
Former Business Intelligence | AAIS
Dina Burgess is Director of Business Intelligence at AAIS (American Association of Insurance Services). She also leads the data modeling for openIDL (open Insurance Data Link), the insurance data and information sharing platform that streamlines regulatory reporting. Dina is an experienced leader in the media, manufacturing and insurance industries bringing enterprise analytical solutions to support business goals.
Sandra Darby
Property & Casualty Division Actuary | Maine Bureau of Insurance

Sandra Darby is the Property & Casualty Division Actuary at the Maine Bureau of Insurance.  She is taking actuarial exams to progress towards the ACAS credentials. She has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and recently completed her master’s degree in Actuarial Science at Boston University. She reviews all property and casualty rate and rule filings for Maine, participates in NAIC actuarial activities, including chairing the NAIC Statistical Data Work Group and provides actuarial support to the Property & Casualty Division. She previously worked at Anthem in its actuarial pricing department. Before working at Anthem, Sandra was the Bureau’s Consumer Health Care Division Assistant Actuary.

Truman Esmond
Former VP of Solutions and Partnerships | AAIS

Truman leads AAIS’s Solutions and Partnerships, a business unit responsible for integrating the traditional advisory offerings and infrastructure of AAIS, together with advanced insurance technologies, and technical support for online product delivery. He leads the development and deployment of openIDL. Truman came to AAIS in 2012 from Red Door Interactive, a firm that specializes in strategy and development of marketing communications campaigns and solutions across digital and traditional media.

Lori Dreaver Munn
Director of Compliance and Government Relations | AAIS

Lori Dreaver Munn is a regulatory compliance legal analyst with over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry with an emphasis on compliance and new program development. She is a key member of two initiatives within AAIS to modernize regulatory reporting, including the use of artificial intelligence to improve compliance filings and openIDL. Dreaver Munn is a Member of the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals (AICP), having served as president, regional director, and treasurer of the AICP’s Western Chapter, and has been a contributing writer for the AICP journal and blog. She is a graduate of Arizona State University with an Arizona property and casualty producer’s license.

Greg Fanoe
Director & Consulting Actuary | Davies

Greg Fanoe has been in the actuarial field since 2005. His experience includes the following:

  • Analysis of loss and loss expense reserves for insurance companies, captives, risk retention groups, and self-insurance funds.
  • Developing loss cost and rate factor development for cannabis insurance products.
  • Assisting with financial examinations on behalf of state insurance regulatory entities. 
  • Preparation of rate filings for a wide variety of personal and commercial lines of insurance.  Assistance provided includes competitive and analytic analysis to determine rate structures and developing rate indications.
  • Reviews of rate filings for state insurance departments. 
  • Development of rates structures, rates, reinsurance requirements, and capital requirements for captives, risk retention groups, and public entities.
  • Review of catastrophe reinsurance and mitigation program for a multi-state insurance company on behalf of a state insurance department.
  • Assistance with licensing applications and feasibility studies for insurance companies and captives.
  • Review of insurance company merger on behalf of state insurance departments.
Scott Grieco
Chief Product and Underwriting Officer, Commercial and Specialty Businesses | The Hanover
Scott joined The Hanover in 2012. Today, he serves as chief product and underwriting officer for The Hanover’s commercial and specialty businesses. In this role, he leads the company’s enterprise coordination, product and underwriting efforts. Scott previously served as president of The Hanover’s middle market business for eight years. Under his leadership, the business unit grew nearly 32% through a focus on industry specialization and portfolio management.

Prior to joining The Hanover, Scott held a variety of leadership roles at Selective Insurance and CNA. He is a graduate of Salem State University.
Robert Guevara
Former Vice President of Inland Marine and Commercial Lines | AAIS

Bob Guevara is AAIS’s VP, Inland Marine and Commercial Lines. He has been with AAIS since 1992, and also has 18 years of experience as an inland marine manager at the branch, regional, and home office level for CNA and Zurich American.

During his years at AAIS, Bob has been the principal developer of the AAIS Commercial Output Program and the Inland Marine Guide. He is a graduate of Hillsdale College in Michigan.

Matt Hinds-Aldrich
Sr. Risk Strategy Lead | AAIS

Dr. Matt Hinds-Aldrich, or "Dr Matt", has led a number of national initiatives and projects to improve how fire departments collect, analyze and use data to focus their efforts, improve their operations, and demonstrate their value. At AAIS, he helps lead the development, expansion, and adoption of the FLAMES (Fire Loss and Mitigation Evaluation Score) methodology for insurers to assess local fire protection and mitigation efforts. Matt’s Ph.D. research at the University of Kent (England) focused upon occupational culture, and specifically, firefighter culture.

Brian Hoffman
Vice President | Travelers
Brian Hoffman has been in the property casualty insurance industry for over 30 years. His current area of responsibility at Travelers is within the Business Insurance Actuarial and Analytics organization, with close ties to the product and underwriting organizations. He works daily with Business Units, Government Relations, Compliance, Legal and Claim. His role requires close relationships with regulators, associations and other industry members.

He began his career with Aetna Life and Casualty in 1989, underwriting Workers Compensation, before joining the product development discipline within a property casualty company. When Travelers purchased the property casualty operation of Aetna in 1996, Brian established a regulatory unit within the growing Travelers Bond business unit. With increasing responsibilities over the years, he was promoted to Manager, Second Vice President and Vice President.
Patrick D. Hughes
Strategic Advisor | Faegre Drinker
Pat Hughes is a strategic advisor, public policy advocate and regulatory attorney for insurance industry clients across all product lines and services. He is an expert on regulatory, legislative and policy matters in various arenas — state and federal agencies, the NAIC, legislatures and international regulatory bodies.
Linda Jancik
Product Manager, Personal Lines | AAIS

Linda is AAIS’s Personal Lines Product Manager, responsible for product development, deployment and management for AAIS’s Personal Lines suite, including Dwelling Properties, Cyber, Flood, Florida Homeowners By-Peril and Homeowners coverages.

Linda has more than 30 years of Personal Lines experience in Underwriting, Product Management, Sales and Business Operations, as well as Communications. Linda has a Bachelors degree from Utah State University.

Joe Jonas
Former Product Manager, Commercial Lines | AAIS

Joe is an experienced P&C leader with 18 years of experience in the insurance industry. With a focus on P&C risk management and product development, Joe has worked in traditional consulting practices, insurtech and carrier operations. As AAIS’s Commercial Lines Product Manager, he is responsible for modernizing forms, manual rules, and rating information in the standard commercial property, casualty and niche specialty markets. Joe also oversees AAIS’s first-in-market cannabis insurance program, which includes the CannaBOP businessowner’s policy, now approved in California, Colorado and Nevada.

 

John Kadous
VP of Personal Lines and Auto | AAIS

John Kadous is AAIS’s Head of Product. In this role, he oversees product development and deployment of AAIS’s extensive product line. John has more than 26 years of insurance experience, including leadership roles with GEICO and USAA.

John earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Regis University. He holds a designation as a certified product manager from the Association of International Product Marketing and Management, as well as his CPCU designation.

 

Janthana Kaenprakhamroy
CEO | Tapoly
Janthana Kaenprakhamroy is the CEO of Tapoly, winner of Insurance Provider of the Year at the British Small Business Awards 2018 and winner of Technological Development by the European Business Awards 2021. Tapoly is an award-winning digital managing general agent (MGA) for SMEs and freelancers, and provides underwriting services, distribution, and an end to end white labelled SAAS (software as a service) solution connecting insurers with their distribution partners. Janthana was listed by Forbes as number 6 of the Top 100 Women Founders to watch and is among the Top Ten Insurtech Female Influencers according to The Insurance Institute. Janthana is a chartered accountant and former internal audit director at top-tier investment banks.
Ed Kelly
Former President and CEO | AAIS

Before being chosen AAIS president in 2012, Ed had numerous years of executive experience in organizations that developed product platforms for property and liability lines.

Among other things, he served seven years as president and COO of an organization that developed one of the first programs allowing insurers to write wind-only coverage. He was also an executive for a specialty division of Royal Sun Alliance that developed and maintained an industry-leading professional liability program for architects and engineers. Prior to his insurance career, Ed worked 11 years as a senior manager for Ernst & Young; he is a certified public accountant with bachelor's and master's degrees from DePaul University.

Werner Kruck
President and CEO | AAIS

Having spent 45 years in the Property & Casualty insurance industry developing products, systems, and distribution in the U.S. and abroad, Werner has unique insight into the many aspects of insurance company strategy and operations.  During his career, he has managed national residential personal lines programs for Foremost Insurance, Bankers & Shippers (Travelers), Markel, and American Modern Insurance.  Werner’s experience includes four years with AIG internationally in New York and Manila as Regional Manager for Personal Lines and Agency Distribution.

For the past 18 years, Werner has specialized in the Florida homeowner market, as both a consultant and Chief Operating Officer (COO).  As COO, Werner led the growth of Security First from a startup in 2006 to a leading Florida homeowner insurer, highly regarded for its strategy and innovation around technology, data, product and distribution.  Among the many innovations implemented during Werner’s tenure, Security First was the first U.S. homeowner insurer to have an iPhone app, to utilize personalized video, and to offer full flood coverage as an endorsement to a homeowner policy.

In his current role as an independent consultant, Werner brings expertise in insurance technology and strategy to a wide range of clients including insurance companies, various insurance service providers and InsurTechs. 

Werner and his wife Angela live in Ormond Beach, Florida.

Isaac Krunkel
Senior Vice President of Consulting Services | Chainyard

Isaac Kunkel is Senior Vice President of Consulting Services at Chainyard. He most recently served at TiVo as Senior Director of Engineering Operations and Services working in the Advanced Search and recommendations business unit. Chainyard is a leading digital transformation company with a niche focus on blockchain. They offer a breadth of digital transformation consulting services to help transform and modernize to unlock business value.

Arron Lamp
Vice President | Travelers
Arron Lamp is an accomplished insurance executive with extensive experience leading business intelligence & analytics, business operations, business transformations, technology development and delivery across multiple distribution channels for large and small organizations. For the past seven years he has been Vice President, Enterprise Business Intelligence & Analytics and Operations Effectiveness at Travelers. Prior to that he was Vice President, Market Management, at Farmers Insurance, and Private Enterprise Manager at Beazley.
Phil LeGrone
Former Vice President of Data & Actuarial Solutions | AAIS

Phil has over 25 years of experience in various risk management activities from both the insurer and risk modeling perspective. His career began in the Loss Control Division at Chubb surveying commercial and industrial risks primarily from a fire protection perspective. Phil later moved into a technical management role and migrated into the world of risk modeling for both Catastrophe and non-Catastrophe sources of risk. His expertise includes data, data analytics, catastrophe modeling, software product management, and geospatial data and analysis. Phil has worked for primary insurers, specialty insurance carriers, and most recently the risk modeling firm Risk Management Solutions in a Senior Director role in their Consulting group.

Chlora Lindley-Myers
DCI Director | Missouri Department of Insurance
Chlora Lindley-Myers was appointed director of the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance on March 6, 2017. She leads the department that protects consumers and ensures a strong and stable insurance market through the regulation of professionals and businesses that impact Missourians' lives daily. Director Lindley-Myers currently serves as Vice President of the NAIC. 
Andrew N. Mais
Insurance Commissioner | NAIC
Andrew N. Mais was nominated by Governor Ned Lamont to be Connecticut’s 33rd Insurance Commissioner. Mais was elected as Secretary Treasurer and will serve on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners beginning January 1, 2021. He currently serves on the International Relations, Property & Casualty, and Financial Regulation Standards committees. He also serves on the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) Macroprudential and Executive Committees. The IAIS is the international standard-setting body responsible for developing and assisting in the supervision of the insurance sector. Mais has led discussions in several forums on race, diversity, and inclusion at the state level and within the insurance industry and in insurance practices. He has also joined the efforts led by Governor Ned Lamont and Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz to address social inequities in Connecticut, including the Council on Women and Girls and cultural competency initiatives. Mais is also a member of the NAIC’s Special Executive Committee on Race and Insurance, charged with conducting research and analyzing issues of diversity and inclusion within the insurance sector. Mais previously was a member of Deloitte’s Center for Financial Services, providing industry-leading thought leadership and insight on US and international regulatory affairs. Prior to that, he was a Director at the New York State Insurance Department. There he served four governors as part of the Department’s senior leadership team through numerous events including the financial crisis of 2008 and major state and federal changes in health insurance regulations and laws. Even outside the government, Mais dedicated much of his life to public service. He most recently served as chair of the Council on Ethics for the town of Wilton, CT, where he lives. Other recent service includes the Maritime Aquarium of Norwalk; the American Red Cross; the Board of Finance of the Town of Wilton; and the Rotary Club of Wilton.
Andy Marcell
Chief Executive Officer | Aon Reinsurance Solutions
Andy Marcell develops innovative ways to grow Aon across its existing client base and implements a range of strategies to attract new clients to the firm. He is a member of the Reinsurance Solutions Executive Committee and a member of Aon’s Operating Committee. Most recently, Marcell was President of Aon Benfield and joined the firm in 2015 when he was appointed Head of Strategy. Prior to joining Aon Benfield, he was CEO of Guy Carpenter’s U.S. Operations and head of their Global Facultative business. During his 25 years at Guy Carpenter, Marcell served in a variety of increasingly senior roles. He was also a member of their Board of Managers and the International Leadership Team. He joined their London office in 1990 from Hoare Govettin London, where he was a Convertible Equity Trader. Marcell is a UK native but lives in New York with his wife Carol and three children, a son, and two daughters. He is an avid history lover. When he’s not cheering for the Chelsea Football Club, Marcell and his family are involved with various charitable organizations, namely The North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center.
Nicole Milos
Assistant Counsel | AAIS
Nicole Milos is Assistant Counsel for AAIS. She has extensive litigation experience, with most of her practice focusing on insurance law and compliance. Prior to coming to AAIS, Nicole was a partner with the Chicago law firm, Cremer, Spina, Shaughnessy, Jansen + Siegert. Nicole serves as a member of the AAIS COVID-19 Task Force, the President of the Advisory Counsel for the Pro Bono Network, President of the Illinois Defense Counsel and as a member of DRI. She earned her BA from Saint Mary’s College and JD from John Marshall Law School.
Hart Montgomery
Chief Technology Officer | Hyperledger Foundation
Hart Montgomery has extensive experience in blockchain and cryptography and previously worked in blockchain and cryptography research at Fujitsu Research where he helped lead Fujitsu’s efforts in Hyperledger. Prior to Fujitsu, he received a Ph.D. in cryptography at Stanford under Dan Boneh, where he was a Stanford Graduate Fellow. Montgomery has numerous academic publications and patents in cryptography and blockchain and brings a wealth of experience in these areas to the Hyperledger Foundation.
Sheila Morris
Manager, Inland Marine | AAIS

Sheila is responsible for preparing inland marine and commercial output program information for filing, publication and implementation, including the AAIS Underwriting Platform. Before joining AAIS in 2003, Sheila spent 15 years with Aon.

Rick Morgan
Chief Marketing Officer | WAHVE

Rick, who lives in Colorado, is one of the industry’s leading marketing and branding experts and has been named by the Insurance Media Association as one of the “100 Most Powerful People in Insurance in North America.” He also received the Wade S. Dunbar Jr. Technology Advocate Award in 2019.

Rick has been an underwriter, insurance agent, publisher, management consultant, sought after speaker, vendor marketing executive and association CEO. He is the co-creator of SilverPlume and has long been active in developing the capabilities of the independent agency distribution system. He has served as an ambassador for the ACORD Users Group Information Exchange (AUGIE) and a long-time participant with IIABA’s Agents Council for Technology (ACT) where he chaired ACT’s Strategic Future Issues Workgroup. He served on the board of directors of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New York. He was interim CEO of Applied Client Network (formerly ASCnet); SVP of marketing of Applied Systems; SVP of ConfirmNet; and owner of Automation Management Group, a technology and operations consulting firm that published The Automated Agency Report (TAAR).
Ash Naik
Product Manager for Commercial and Personal Auto | AAIS
Ash Naik is AAIS Product Manager for Commercial and Personal Auto. Ash is an experienced software product manager, having worked at Microsoft and Dell before entering the start-up landscape as Cofounder and CEO of SalesPal and Mandovi, developing a long history of shipping high-quality, cutting-edge technology products that enable digital transformation in IT infrastructure and application infrastructure. Ash brings his passion for products, packaging, and experience design from the technology sector to the insurance industry. He has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the University of Washington Foster School of Business, and mentors first year MBA students looking to make a career in the technology space. He looks forward to helping AAIS Members meet the challenges in the auto insurance market.
Karl J. Newman
CEO | WSRB

Karl J. Newman is a CEO, author, speaker, and executive coach who loves to help people and organizations change and grow to reach their maximum potential. As president & CEO of two technology companies and founder of Envision Leadership, LLC, Karl has led major transformation efforts that have made each organization a place where people are valued, and stuff gets done. Karl has served the insurance industry for more than 25 years, both on the company side and in insurance service organizations.

Karl is an international speaker, trainer, and coach certified by Maxwell Leadership. He speaks on leadership, success, and personal growth and has addressed hundreds of audiences ranging from businesses to non-profits to groups of more than 2500 business leaders. As former president of a public relations organization, he was featured in more than 3000 television, radio, and online news stories helping people understand the arcane mysteries of personal and commercial insurance. He also donates his time to help small groups and non-profits learn the same life-changing principles he brings to business organizations.

Frank Nutter
President | Reinsurance Association of America
Frank Nutter currently serves on the Advisory Board of the OECD’s International Network for the Financial Management of Large-Scale Disasters, the RAND Center on Catastrophic Risk Management and Compensation, and the University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner III Center for Insurance and Risk Management Advisory Board. Nutter serves as the Chair of the Board of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest private funder of research grants to find a cure for childhood cancer. He also serves as chair of EdututorVA, which links college education majors for tutoring with underserved public school students. Nutter has recently served on the Advisory Board of the Center for Health and the Global Environment, an adjunct to the Harvard University School of Public Health, Council of the American Meteorological Society, and the Board of the University Center for Atmospheric Research, a consortium of universities managing the National Center for Atmospheric Research sponsored by the National Science Foundation. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the Worker’s Compensation Research Institute, the Board of Overseers of the Institute for Civil Justice, a subsidiary of the Rand Corporation and on the Board of the Bermuda Institute for Ocean Sciences. Nutter has a Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Cincinnati. The University of Cincinnati awarded him the 2020 Kautz Alumni Masters Award. Nutter was a U.S. Navy officer and is a Vietnam veteran. He also competed in the 2019 and 2022 Senior Olympics in cycling.
Mike Payne
Chief Pricing Actuary | AAIS

Michael Payne is the Chief Pricing Actuary at AAIS.  In this role, he is responsible for leading the Actuarial Services team in conducting countrywide loss cost reviews, developing pricing for new programs, and building a modernized pricing process.  

Michael joined AAIS in December 2018.  Before coming to AAIS, Michael was the Director of Underwriting Analysis at Sears Home Services.  He also has 14 years of experience on the carrier side, holding a variety of actuarial pricing roles at Zurich Insurance Group and SCOR Reinsurance.  Michael earned his BA in Mathematics and Psychology from Northwestern University, is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, and is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Anand Rajarman
VP of Product Management | BizDynamics
Anand is the VP of Product Management at BizDynamics. He leads the company’s rating and business intelligence operations and has over 20 years of experience in financial services. His previous roles include senior positions at Arch Insurance, Oceanwide, and Camilion SAP.
Rich Pelkofksy
Former Product Manager, F&A | AAIS

Rich comes to AAIS from Brethren Mutual Insurance Company where he was their Product and Compliance Manager for all lines. Rich has a degree in Horticulture from Delaware Valley University. After graduation Rich spent more than 30 years in Agricultural insurance as an agent, agency owner, marketing representative and Senior Product Specialist in Farm forms. His diverse background offers a unique perspective and understanding into how to protect our farm and agribusiness risks. Jacob Pereira

Jacob is an experienced member of the RCT team and has been with the organization for over 4 years. Jacob brings an in-depth and wide ranging Loss Control experience from his time as part of the RCT Implementation Team, and currently holds the role of Solution Engineer. Jacob specializes in training clients to become masters in leveraging their RCT platforms to meet their unique needs. He holds degrees in Environmental Biology and Environmental Management and Assessment, from the University of Guelph and Niagara College. In his spare time Jacob enjoys staying active, following a variety of sports leagues, and is an avid reader.

Robert A. Rusbuldt is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, Inc. (IIABA or the Big “I”). He joined the Association in 1986 and was named CEO in 2001.

During his time at the Big “I,” Mr. Rusbuldt earned recognition as one of the leading experts on tax, banking, insurance and financial services issues in Washington, DC. The Washington Post, Roll Call and The Hill have named Mr. Rusbuldt as one of the most influential private sector people with Congress. For the last several years he has been named one of the most influential leaders in the insurance industry.
Phil Skaggs
Former Assistant Counsel | AAIS

Phil Skaggs is former Assistant Counsel at AAIS focusing on insurance coverage analysis, compliance, policy drafting, contract preparation, and emerging risk assessment. Phil also specializes in cannabis business exposures, staying current with ever-changing regulations, market trends, and insurance developments. He was both the architect of the Cannabis Businessowners Policy (CannaBOP) and project lead for all standardized cannabis coverage provisions and exclusions. Phil has also worked as an insurance coverage and commercial litigation attorney at a national law firm and a law clerk at the Cook County Circuit Court in Chicago.

 

Bryon Snethen, CPCU, ARM, AU, CSP

Bryon Snethen joined EMC Insurance Companies in 1990 and has been Vice President - Risk Improvement Department Manager since 2010. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering from Iowa State University, and earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Risk Management, Associate in Commercial Underwriting, and Certified Safety Professional designations. Bryon served on the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety Commercial Lines Committee since 2008, as Vice Chairperson (2014-2015) and Chairperson (2016-2018). He was a board member of the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council (2010-2015), serving as secretary and a finance committee member. He served on the American Property Casualty Insurance Association Loss Control Committee since 2009 and was the Chairperson (2011-2012). In 2017, Bryon was named to, and continues to serve on, the Board of Directors for MākuSafe Corporation, an Iowa-based insuretech startup focused on wearable IoT devices.

As a Product Manager for AAIS, Stephanie is responsible for the planning, design, and management of the commercial lines and inland marine products.  Stephanie is committed to providing a modernized suite of insurance products to our members. Before joining AAIS in 2021, Stephanie had 15 years of experience working in commercial lines for insurance carriers.

Robin Westcott
VP of Government Affairs, Legal & Compliance | AAIS

Robin S. Westcott, J.D. is Vice President of Government Affairs, Legal & Compliance (GLC) at AAIS. She is an attorney who spent more than 20 years in insurance-related regulatory positions in Florida.

Robin oversees product compliance operations, consults with state insurance departments about the practical implications of regulatory initiatives and acts as the general counsel. She has helped to lead critical AAIS initiatives, including CannaBOP cannabis coverage and openIDL. Robin has a BS and JD from Florida State University.

Scott White
Commissioner (Secretary-Treasurer of NAIC) | Virginia Bureau of Insurance Department

Scott A. White was appointed Commissioner of Insurance of the Virginia State Corporation Commission’s Bureau of Insurance in 2018. He was elected NAIC Secretary-Treasurer in December 2022. White joined the Bureau as a research analyst in 1998. From 1999 until 2011, he worked as an attorney advising the Bureau on all major insurance regulatory and compliance matters. In 2011 he became head of the Commission’s financial services legal division, expanding his practice areas to include securities and banking. White has chaired the Financial Condition (E) Committee, the Long-Term Care Insurance (EX) Task Force, and the Southeast Zone. He currently serves as a member of the IAIS Macroprudential Committee. White received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and a law degree from the University of Missouri. He and his wife, Jodi, have two grown daughters.

Joan Zerkovich
Former Senior Vice President of Operations | AAIS

Before coming to AAIS in 2012, Joan worked for several organizations in information technology positions, including more than eight years as CIO of ICAT Holdings LLC, a catastrophe insurance intermediary. Her work at ICAT earned Joan recognition in 2006 as one of the insurance industry’s “Elite 8” technology professionals by Insurance & Technology magazine.

Prior to her years at ICAT, Joan spent more than 13 years in information technology positions with the University of California system. Her work there included projects that contributed to the initial public access to the Internet and to the digitalization of the university's library system.

Joan has a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of California-Davis, and an MBA with an emphasis in business information systems from CSU-Sacramento.
