On September 17, 2026, the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs issued Commissioner's Memorandum 2026-9PC requiring all insurers who currently write, or have written, residential hurricane coverage in the last fifteen years to complete the data call worksheet.

On August 26, 2026, the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) issued Memorandum 2026-7A following Tropical Storm and Hurricane Lala to provide claims handling expectations.

 Hawaii has enacted Senate Bill 2964 which, among other provisions, requires homeowners insurers to provide written notice in paper format to policyholders at least once every two years informing the policyholder that they may submit information regarding improvements made to the insured residential property. The insurer should use such information to reevaluate the insured property’s replacement cost. If the dwelling coverage limit is less than the replacement cost, the insurer must offer the policyholder the option to purchase additional homeowners insurance to increase the dwelling coverage limit. Required conditions of this offer are described in the bill. 

On April 17, 2026, the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs issued Commissioner's Memorandum 2026-4PC requiring certain insurers to complete the Hurricane Insurance Data Call Worksheet.

On April 8, 2026, the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) issued Commissioner's Memorandum 2026-3A to inform insurers that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has recently updated its Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs).

On January 9, 2026, the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs issued Memorandum 2026-1PC to notify insurers of the changes made to property and casualty rate filing procedures.

The Hawaii Insurance Division has issued its annual insurance premium data call requesting that all motor vehicle insurers submit their private passenger automobile premium information.

On June 12, 2025, the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) issued Memorandum 2025-1A regarding the extension of timeframes to complete repairs or replacements for policyholders that were impacted by the August 2023 Maui Island wildfires.

On September 16, 2024, the Hawaii Insurance Division (HIID) issued Memorandum 2024-1R requiring all insurers who currently write, or have written, residential hurricane coverage in the last fifteen years to complete the data call worksheet.

On September 29, 2023, Hawaii issued Commissioner's Memorandum 2023-6R requiring all insurers who currently write, or have wrote residential hurricane coverage in the last 15 years, to complete the data call worksheet.
