On August 22, 2024, the Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) issued Bulletin No. 2024-07, notifying insurers of rule changes and requiring certain insurers to file a Market Survey Attestation.
Illinois has enacted House Bill 5357, which requires insurers, upon receiving homeowners insurance applications, to provide applicants with information regarding the availability of coverage for losses caused by a sewer backup or sump pump overflow, including coverage limits and costs.. Additionally, insurers are required to provide to the insured this information, along with details of their existing coverage, at least 30 days prior to each renewal of any homeowners policy. The bill is effective January 1, 2025.

Oklahoma has enacted Rule 365:15-1-26, requiring insurers to conduct a market survey of the prices charged by certain repair facilities to establish a competitive price for motor vehicle repairs. The surveys should be updated sufficiently to reflect current market conditions. Upon request from the Department, insurers must provide copies of the surveys within 20 days.
