Oklahoma has enacted Senate Bill 1876 which, among other provisions, requires foreign or alien insurers to appoint the Insurance Commissioner (Commissioner), a resident of the state, or a person authorized to do business in the state as its agent to receive service of legal process, other than a subpoena. Any insurer appointing a registered agent other than the Commissioner must electronically submit the name and address of the agent in the manner prescribed by the Commissioner. This information will be made public, and any changes should be submitted to the Commissioner within five business days of such change.
