On October 31, 2025, the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) issued Bulletin No. B-5.55 regarding insurer practices following floods that occurred in Pagosa Springs and the southern part of the state.

The DORA realizes that property owners in the affected part of the state may not have flood insurance to cover damage possibly caused by the 2025 floods. As provided in the bulletin, they are requesting insurers take certain considerations into account when communicating with insureds.
