Connecticut Issues Bulletin Regarding Flood Insurance Disclosure Requirements

    Jul 14, 2025 / by AAIS

On July 8, 2025, the Connecticut Insurance Department (CID) issued Bulletin PC-93-25 providing guidance on flood insurance disclosure requirements.

The bulletin states that insurers are required to include a clear, conspicuous, and plain language notice in homeowners and renters insurance policies, including dwelling fire and condominium policies, stating that losses caused by flood are not covered under such policies, but a separate flood insurance policy is available for purchase. The notice must also include basic information on how to purchase flood insurance. Insurers must file the notice they intend to provide on new and renewal policies for CID approval on or before January 31, 2026, for new or renewal policies effective on or after July 1, 2026. The bulletin provides what should be included in the filing.

Please see Bulletin PC-93-25 for more information. For any questions regarding the bulletin, please contact pc.cid@ct.gov.
