Insurers' Disaster and Catastrophic Event Contact Info Due to Maryland by April 14th

On January 23, 2023, the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) issued Bulletin 23-1 regarding insurers' contact information in the event of a disaster or catastrophic event. 

By the close of business on April 14, 2023, insurers must provide the MIA with the information specifically requested within the Bulletin. The information must be submitted electronically here. The same person may be listed for more than one contact, and either the primary or back-up contact must be available to answer questions during evenings or weekends. Login IDs and passwords are being emailed to the primary contacts listed for each company, but you can also contact Joyce Peach at (410) 468-2360 or ceau.mia@maryland.gov for the login information.

All insurance companies that do business in Maryland MUST update their points of contact between January 15th and April 15th of each year. Companies are also responsible for immediately notifying the MIA of any changes to any of the contact information.
