On June 20, 2025, the Louisiana Department of Insurance issued Advisory Letter 2025-02 to all property and casualty insurers, producers, public adjusters, and persons doing business in the state to remind them of Act 364 of the 2023 Regular Legislative Session regarding assignment of benefit (AOB) agreements.

The advisory letter states that La. R.S. 22:1275 prohibits the solicitation or acceptance of any assignment of post-loss insurance benefits under residential or commercial property insurance policies. Any such agreements are considered null, void, and unenforceable.
