Louisiana has recently enacted House Bill 144 and House Bill 375. Please see the summaries below.
House Bill 144 states that an insurer shall not deliver, issue, or renew any homeowners insurance policy providing coverage for loss or damage to improvements upon immovable property that includes the value of the unimproved land in the coverage limits.
House Bill 375 establishes that every insurer who writes homeowners or private passenger motor vehicle insurance policies must disclose all discounts that the insurer offers that may reduce the premium of a current or prospective policyholder.
