    Apr 7, 2026 / by AAIS

On March 31, 2026, the Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) issued Bulletin 2026-06 to remind property and casualty insurers authorized to transact the business of automobile or property insurance of their requirement to notify the Commissioner when ceasing, pausing, or resuming the writing of policies in a particular region.

The bulletin states that within ten days of providing notice to representatives of any decision to cease, pause, or resume the writing of new insurance policies in any region within the state, insurers must also provide written notice of such action to the Commissioner. The bulletin outlines what should be included within the notice as well as how to submit such notice.

Please see Bulletin 2026-06 for more information. For any questions regarding the bulletin, please contact the Deputy Commissioner for the Office of Property and Casualty at 225-342-5203 or CeasePauseResume@ldi.la.gov.
