The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA) has released their annual assessment fee notice. The below message was sent out in SERFF regarding the assessment fee:
"The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (“MCCA”) assessment charged per vehicle for the period July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 will be $82 ($59 pure premium and $23 deficit recoupment) for unlimited PIP coverage and $23 (deficit recoupment only) for all other PIP benefit coverage options, including policyholders opting out of PIP benefits. The below link contains the announcement from the MCCA.
All carriers offering Personal and non-exempt Commercial Auto policies must submit, at minimum, a rate filing to DIFS no later than April 2, 2025 with the new pure premium and deficit recoupment amounts to comply with statute. These updated amounts must be listed in your auto manual and submitted with your filing. Please also note that the MCCA change should be reflected in your overall % indicated and overall % rate impact as well as the maximum and minimum % change on the Rate/Rule Schedule tab. The indicated and selected exhibit should include the total indicated and selected amount with AND without the MCCA change.
Please note that each filing must also include a Savings Realized Exhibit - 2111f(8), along with the 2111f(8) memorandum. If you are not passing along any additional savings please provide the following attestation in the savings realized memorandum… 'I attest that the proposed rates reflect the company’s current estimate of the savings realized pursuant to MCL 500.2111f(8) and that a change is not warranted at this time.'"
