On June 17, 2025, the New Mexico Office of Superintendent of Insurance (NMOSI) issued Emergency Order 2025-0100 in response to the Trout Fire. The emergency order mandates that insurers who write property, homeowners, and automobile policies in Grant County implement specific measures to help policyholders.

Among others, these measures include providing a 90-day grace period for the payment of insurance premiums, waiving deductibles, and postponing cancellations and nonrenewals for the above-mentioned policies.
