Oct 4, 2024 / by AAIS

On October 1, 2024, the South Carolina Department of Insurance (SCDOI) issued Bulletin Number 2024-12 advising insurers in the state that the department expects them to provide relief to those directly impacted by Tropical Storm Helene.

The bulletin outlines some of the relief that insurers may provide to policyholders, including extensions on premium payment deadlines, allowing additional time before cancellations or nonrenewals become effective, and waiving certain fees, penalties, or other charges.

Please see Bulletin Number 2024-12 for more information. For any questions regarding the bulletin, please contact CATInfo@doi.sc.gov.
