On July 10, 2025, the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) issued Commissioner's Bulletin #B-0007-25 following a disaster declaration in response to the July flooding.
The bulletin provides guidance to insurers regarding the handling of claims arising from the flood, grace periods for premium payments for affected consumers, prohibited nonrenewal practices, and others. The TDI clarifies that the bulletin does not create specific requirements, but cooperation will help ensure the fair treatment of consumers.
