The Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner (WOIC) issued a notice to inform stakeholders of new SERFF questions regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools being used in the creation or review of a filing, or the development of supporting work.

Beginning May 1, 2026, all new SERFF rate and form filings must indicate whether AI was used in the preparation or support of the filing. If AI tools were used, filers will be required to identify the AI system and provide a brief description of the impact on the filing. The notice provides the questions that will be in SERFF as well as example responses.
