Washington State Requests Extension of Additional Living Expenses Benefit Following Recent Fires

Jun 28, 2024 / by AAIS

On June 24, 2024, the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner (WOIC) issued a news release urging insurance companies to extend the additional living expenses benefit for wildfire victims who are nearing their 12-month limit on that coverage.

The news release also reminds insurers of the recent data call for losses associated with the Gray and Oregon Road fires. The data call requires all insurance companies with a loss related to these fires to complete two different worksheets and submit them through the NAIC's website. The first report is due on August 15, 2024

Please see the news release and data call for more information.
